Breast Augmentation

How It's Done
Breast implants are inserted through small, inconspicuous incisions. Today we have three choices of incision site. You and I will work together to choose which is best for you. You'll have a choice of implants, too: textured-round implants, textured bio dimensional or pear-shaped (more appropriate for over-40 women). We'll go over all of this together during consultation, as well as the placement of the implants. There are two choices of placement: under and over the pectoral muscle. We prefer under the muscle as it results in a more natural look with prettier cleavage, and is softer to the touch. You'll get the full range of choices, and the solutions that suit you best. A breast lift can be performed if you want to correct droopy breasts with low-lying nipples.

Implant Size
What breast size do you want to be? Your new size will be judged by your body frame, rib cage proportions and of course your ideas and wishes. To help you make this decision you may want to bring in photographs of women
from magazines or lingerie catalogues. This will help me understand what you are seeking.

After breast surgery, your breasts will appear larger as a result of swelling, but will decrease in size and drop in position over time.

The Surgery and Recovery
• Out-patient procedure (in our fully accredited operating room)
• General or deep sedation anesthesia
• One to two hours in the operating room

Getting Back to Normal
We recommend wearing a soft cotton bra without an under wire for two months post-op. This allows the implant to drop into a pleasing position. As with all cosmetic procedures, the final result will be apparent at around six months. After your implants are placed, subsequent alterations in breast shape may occur as a result of aging, weight loss or gain, pregnancy, or other circumstances.
