When a patient ages and anti-aging measures do not work well, a facelift (face lift) may be a patient’s best option. This is an artistic surgery that balances your skin, facial muscles and bone structure to produce a rejuvenated appearance. Your procedure can be tailored to your specific needs and Denver facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Thomas Narsete, can do this for you. He has many years of experience to get the look you want.
What is a Facelift?
The traditional facelift (skin and sma tightening) is the most commonly performed facial rejuvenation performed by Dr. Narsete. This may include treating fine lines and wrinkles, lifting sagging skin and removing fat from certain areas of the face. Mini lifts or a neck lift are also options to consider all depending upon the look you want. Additional liposuction in the neck enhances the artistry of your result. The deeper plane lift gives a more sculpted look and is designed to alter the position of your cheekbone fat (malar).
Who is a good candidate for a Facelift
Facelifts can be preformed on both men and women. The best candidates usually are between the ages of 40 and 60. From tightening sagging skin around the jawline to improving skin elasticity, a facelift can help you feel years younger. With a facelift, you will continue to look like yourself, only with a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
Before your Facelift
You will start with a professional consultation with Denver facial plastic surgeon Dr. Thomas Narsete. His consults are a courtesy, and you will love the experience. He will go through a thorough exam and review your photos and explain all the options with you. At the end of the consult, you will know exactly which procedure works for you.
Types of Anesthesia
Dr. Narsete will discuss the type of anesthesia used for this procedure during your consultation and will depend on factors, such as your medical status and your comfort level. A local anesthesia may be used, which will numb the area but leave you awake during the procedure. A general anesthesia may also be considered, which would allow you to sleep comfortably throughout the surgery.
The Facelift Procedure
All facelift procedures are performed in an accredited facility here in Denver. You will want to spend as much time as you need in your preoperative consult so Dr. Narsete can answer all your questions, and review photos of previous patients.
How the facelift will be performed will be dependent on the results you and Dr. Narsete discussed during your consultation. The most common incision techniques are:
- Traditional facelift: During this procedure, incisions will be made from your temples down around and behind your ear. If necessary, another incision may be made underneath the chin. This procedure is often called the “full facelift,” as it involves sculpting fatty tissues around the neck and jowls. A traditional facelift repositions muscle tissues and often includes re-draping of the face.
- Mini facelift: This procedure is not as extensive as the traditional facelift, it uses short incisions from the temple down around the ear. Depending on the extent of the facelift, incisions may also be required in the lower eyelids and/or the upper lid as well. This type of procedure is typically used for limited rejuvenation around the eyes and mouth.
- Neck lift: This procedure focuses on the neck and jowls, as well as fat deposits underneath the chin. A neck lift involves an incision around the earlobe and behind the ear to the lower scalp.
What is the cost of a Facelift?
A facelift is considered to be elective, so most insurance providers will not cover the costs. To help make facelift surgery affordable and accessible for everyone, Dr. Narete offers financing options which can be discussed during your consultation. For your convenience, Dr. Narsete accepts cash and all major credit cards. Financing options via LendingUSA is also available.
