Whether you’re unhappy with your nose because it’s too small or too large or you want to improve the shape of your nose, Rhinoplasty can make small changes to your nose and significantly boost your self-image and self-confidence. Your procedure can be tailored to your specific needs and Denver facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Thomas Narsete, can do this for you. He has many years of experience to get the look you want.
What is a Rhinoplasty?
With Rhinoplasty, Dr. Narsete can enhance the proportions of your nose and make it look more symmetrical and balanced. In addition to visible changes to the appearance, Rhinoplasty also resolves the breathing problems faced by an individual due to a deviated septum.
What Rhinoplasty can Treat
- Nose size in relation to facial balance
- Nose width at the bridge or in the size and position of the nostrils
- Nose profile with visible humps or depressions on the bridge
- Nasal tip that is enlarged or bulbous, drooping, upturned or hooked
- Nostrils that are large, wide or upturned
- Nasal asymmetry
Who is a good candidate for a Rhinoplasty
The best candidates for rhinoplasty are healthy non-smoking patients. For teens, Rhinoplasty should be done only after the growth spurt has finished, and you are over the age of 13. Dr. Nareste believes it is important for his patients considering rhinoplasty to have realistic expectations regarding their outcome.
Before your Rhinoplasty
You will start with a professional consultation with Denver facial plastic surgeon Dr. Thomas Narsete. His consults are a courtesy, and you will love the experience. He will go through a thorough exam and review your photos and explain all the options with you. At the end of the consult, you will know exactly which procedure works for you.
Types of Anesthesia
Dr. Narsete will discuss the type of anesthesia used for this procedure during your consultation and will depend on factors, such as your medical status and your comfort level. A local anesthesia may be used, which will numb the area but leave you awake during the procedure. A general anesthesia may also be considered, which would allow you to sleep comfortably throughout the surgery.
The Rhinoplasty Procedure
Dr. Narsete will use one of two techniques for your procedure.
- Closed Rhinoplasty: incisions will be made inside your nostrils, after which your surgeon will gently lift the soft tissues covering the nose.
- Open Rhinoplasty: may be performed, where an incision will be made across the columella, which is the tissue between the nostrils.
After lifting the soft tissue, Dr. Narsete will sculpt the bone and cartilage of your nose to achieve the desired shape. If additional cartilage is needed to augment the nose, it may be taken from the septum. In the case of a deviated septum, Dr. Narsete will adjust the septum and your nose’s inner structures in order to improve your breathing. After reshaping your nose, the soft tissue will be re-draped and stitched closed.
If you desire a more symmetrical nose, keep in mind that everyone’s face is asymmetric to some degree. Rhinoplasty results may not be completely symmetric, although the goal is to create facial balance and correct proportion.
What is the cost of a Rhinoplasty?
A rhinoplasty is considered to be elective, so most insurance providers will not cover the costs. To help make rhinoplasty surgery affordable and accessible for everyone, Dr. Narete offers financing options which can be discussed during your consultation. For your convenience, Dr. Narsete accepts cash and all major credit cards. Financing options via LendingUSA is also available.
